Join the Davis Center for a lecture on Alexey Navalny's legacy and influence on Russian domestic politics.

How has Alexey Navalny, currently jailed as a prisoner of conscience in Russia, evolved from an anti-corruption blogger to the leader of the Russian opposition, the one person willing to publicly challenge Vladimir Putin? Is he capable of becoming a Russian hero of history, an “event-making man” as Timothy Colton labeled Boris Yeltsin in his ground-breaking biography? To what extent does the deinstitutionalization of politics in countries with non-democratic regimes depend on “heroes" to turn their nations around?
