Dramatic developments are taking place in Eurasia. The situation in Afghanistan in the aftermath of the U.S. troops' withdrawal remains challenging and requires solutions. There is a severe war in Ukraine, and its repercussions are unprecedented. Great power competition between the West and China is unfolding. In the meantime, Kazakhstan experienced a tragic turmoil in January 2022 that resulted in the shake-up of the country and the acceleration of political and economic reforms.
