Electricity Market Reforms in Ukraine: Challenges and Opportunities

Dec. 14, 2018, 10:00am-11:30am (RSVP requested)
5th Floor, Woodrow Wilson Center, 1300 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington, DC

Join the Wilson Center for a talk with several experts on Ukraine's recent electricity market reform law. This law, part of a nationwide series of reforms, provides an opportunity to synchronize the Ukrainian energy system with the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E) and integrate Ukraine within the European market. Speakers will address why these reforms are important and describe the benefits, drawbacks, and potential outcomes for Ukraine and its neighbors. The presentation will discuss the findings of the new report “Electricity Market Reforms in Ukraine: Challenges and Opportunities,” which provides assessments of both the hypothetical success and failure of electricity market reform in Ukraine. RSVP is requested.
